Olbermann Watch, "persecuting" Keith since 2004

Keith Olbermann Suspended! John Gibson Has a Few Words...

Reports from Mediaite, TVNewser, Yahoo News. Insiders say KO 'won't be back'. Olby flashback: 'Phil Griffin thinks he's my boss'. More in the post below.

    Comments are open!

UPDATE: Olby will be back on Tuesday. That was one tough suspension Phil Griffin handed out. He really threw the pamphlet at Keith.

One executive said the network decided it was imperative to take this kind of strong action as a way of underscoring that MSNBC, while featuring prime-time shows that overly support Democratic policy, remains a channel that adheres to fundamental journalistic values

OK, when do I stop laughin'

The TV Newser Link is saying Hayes won't be hosting now, because he got caught doing the same thing. This is just too funny.

James Thurber quote..that sums up Olbermann and for that matter MSNBC :
It had only one fault. It was kind of lousy.

Stay tuned, I have a feeling things are going to be interesting ..

Thank You Karma. I said this a while ago but Karma is a bitch and it will eventually get you.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Olbermann is done but still remain a little skeptical.

Olby hasn't tweeted anything about the incident...probably too busy soaking in the tub.

The Kooks are hysterical right now:

    1) Olbermann suspended by MSNBC
    2) Joe Scarborough did the exact same thing
    3) Griffin's defense of suspension makes no sense
    4) Boycott MSNBC until K.O. is back
    5) Keith is supposed to be a liberal commentator. He SHOULD donate to liberal candidates. That should be a required part of his job.
    6) Boycott NBC and MSNBC
    7) Keith's punishment far exceeds MSNBC's Rules
    8) Why "indefinite suspension without pay"?
    9) Rally for Keith!
    10) It's time for a new news channel
    11) Olberman suspension: Ratings ploy?
    And my personal favorite:
    12) Will Fox News Hire Keith Olbermann?

Ha Ha Ha...can it get any funnier? First the election and now this. The far left loons are losing their minds.

Wait...Wait...Wait...does this mean no "Fridays with Thurber" tonight? Whatever shall I do????

With the election results and now this, Christmas has definitely come early.

"12) Will Fox News Hire Keith Olbermann?"

Well, only Nixon could go to China.

Maybe he will go to China and STAY!!!!

Have faith, karma will take him out the door.

    Great day!

OMG! Chris Mathews telling Media Matters to investigate the India trip pricetag, claiming news outlets are just "rip and read", his quote.

? can he talk about Olbermann "blue blogs" when he's GONE????

    Pot meet Kettle.

Meltdown, only on AMESSnbc, the place for weekend lockup docs!

    "Christmas has definitely come early."
My birthday is the 17th. If he doesn't return, this is an early birthday present. I'm just as skeptical as you, Brad.

Good evening welcome to Countdown with ALAN GRAYSON....

Wow, would that not be great? Lame duck be damned!

    AMESSnbc, the big tent circus!

Somewhere O'Reilly, Beck and Hannity are laughing their asses off.

    ENOUGH! RESIGN!

    BWWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

This advice, Mr. Olbermann: Shut. the. hell. up.!

    Sorry, couldn't help myself.

Even if he does come back it will be without balls.....

Is it possible? Can it Be True? I knew Keith was on his way out after the kicked him off Sunday Night Football but I didn't think they would shit can him. Rejoyce! Our long national nightmare might be comming to an end. He might pop up on HBO but I don't think they can even deal with his bullshit.

Hey Keith, Good night & Good Luck!!!

Unfortunately, Brad, it isn't just the Kooks. A handful on the right want him back, too. Are these people out of their minds?!

I thought that this might be the end of our long nightmare, but it is probably just a momentary interruption - Old McFatAss will end up on some other lefty "news" outlet or blog. Komrade Keith is like a bad rash or an old penny - can't get rid of him no matter how hard we try. That said, this has been a great week - Olby canned and Obama repudiated by the nation. If Tingles got canceled, it would be a karmic trifecta. I doubt he will be back on air. Idiot. I will see what the Kooks and estrogen-deprived harpies have to say tonight.

    Whose this Putz?

Poor Olbermann. No wonder he was so biased against Senator Elect Rand Paul. As for his next job, i would think he'd just go back in to an industry where he's shown at least a little bit of expertise: sports. If only he didn't alienate his bosses at ESPN and Fox Sports, he might actually have another job lined up. At best, he'll end up leading in to Penn and Teller's BS show on Showtime, although with Penn and Teller, you would actually learn something and come away smarter.

The funniest thing is he shouldn't have been tossed for this.

This is why napalming bridges is not a good idea. I'm sure if his picture wasn't pasted in the dictionary next to the word "jackass" someone of importance would back him up.

I doubt it. Who's gonna stand up for him?

Dan Patrick? Does he even acknowledge Olbermann's existence?

ESPN? I figured that'd be good for a laugh.

Phil Griffin? When Griffin saw that Politico story this morning he probably said "Finally, I can dump this asshole."

Maddow? Yeah sure. Right up until Griffin comes up to her and says "Hey Rachel, wanna move to 8 p.m.?"

Robin? Oh wait, he's on "suspension" too.

His staff? The unfortunate part is they're probably out of a job too. The fortunate part is they don't have to work for Olbermann anymore.

Daily Kos? YES. Markos will probably bring him in full time with open arms. Oh, what? I forgot I said someone of importance.

Usually when something like this happens people would rally around you and defend your unjustified "suspension" (like Juan Williams).

Unfortunately, the problem with being a "pious, unlikable blowhard who lives alone" is having no one in your corner when you need them.

You may not deserved to get fired over this, but it's time you paid for everything you've done.

The chickens have come to roost motherfucker.

    so, MSNBC Watch?

Will Rachel and Lawrence O'Donnell alter their style without Keith? Tone it down a little? Or will they try to continue his legacy of BS, thus giving this site an opening to continue?

This will be a day long worth remembered.

Rachel tried to make lemons into lemondade, saying that it was clear evidence of the "false equivalency" between FNC and MSNBC. Basically took the Media Matters "research" on FNC personalities supporting/endorsing Republican candidates, and spun it that this is proof that FNC is not a "news" organization and MSNBC is not the lefty version of Fox because egad, MSNBC has standards for its on-air hosts.

Yeah, let's look at MSNBC's election coverage from Tuesday night and talk about "standards" for on-air hosts.

Then again, she is heir to the throne...

Bill Kristol thinks we should rally behind Oldermann because he should not have gotten suspended over a political donation.

Fat chance. Get lost, FatAss. Wise up, Kristol.

Maybe it's just payback for MSNBC's election ratings falling into the toilet, much like Olbermann's warped mind did years ago.

Has KO left a scathing blog on the Daily Krap?

Maybe he's negotiating a severance or preparing to sue.

I was actually thinking the same thing.

However, you can see my reasoning in my comment posted above.

If the Joker were on Death Row for a crime he didn't commit, Batman would do the right thing in the name of justice.

But this ain't no comic book. This is reality. And the reality is Olbermann has pissed off so many people anyone who could could actually help gonna turn their back on him.

Except of course, for Markos and the Kossacks. Which will make Olbermann just another common blogger.

"Maybe he's negotiating a severance or preparing to sue."

He might have grounds to sue. But as O'Reilly said famous people don't really catch a break in cases like this.

Perhaps he's figured out MSNBC is the only respectable (and I use that term loosely) outlet that will still have him and he's on his knees begging for his job back.

This guy 'maddow' comes on and says Fox does it, so why can't we.

Hey, if you come on and "SAY YOUR NOT A JOURALIST" I have no problem with it. But if you keep on claiming you are some kind of journalist with integrity, well no thanks. Let the war resume...

Olbermann was like that big rock that plugged up the energy votex on LOST. Everything on MSNBC flowed around him, from their attitude to their style.

The cork has been removed. Is the bottle going to spill? or even shatter?

    tee hee

a note on my comment about him suing. He of course would never win in open court, since who would rule in favor of him? But filing a lawsuit would be an impetus of a settlement larger than a potential severance, which he would feel entitled to since in his mind he probably doesn't think he breached their contract.

It would be an interesting refresher to re-examine some of his comments made after Juan Williams was dumped by NPR, also for "breach of contract." Didn't Olby say "a news organization exercised its right to terminate an employee for not following that contract" or words to that effect?

and who the hell is Rachel Maddow to determine whether Fox News people are actually doing anything to the equivalence of KO?

To paraphrase the banished one. Shut up, biotch. YOU DON'T MATTER ANYMORE!

Coincidences a muck, Olbermann is a modern day Guy Fawkes, or should i say Guy Faux...

Remember, remember the Fifth of November,
    The Party Donation and Plot,
    I know of no reason
    Why the Party Donation
    Should ever be forgot.

Eh, I'd do the rest, but I think it's time for some Lock-Down. At least Larry still has the keys.

Also, Media Matters is blatantly lying about Fox Newsers political contributions. I don't have time to get into all of them, but glancing at their ravings quickly I noted they say Dick Morris never disclosed he was being paid to campaign for Republicans while he came on Fox News to shill for them.

Except I remember at least two appearances on O'Reilly prior to the election where O'Reilly kidded Morris for campaigning, and Morris saying he was paid to do so.

    That's, wait for it, DISCLOSURE.

Also, Media Matters apparently hasn't hit on the idea that Olby for some reason was seen by MSNBC as a hard-news guy, I guess. But Olby himself saw himself that way judging by all his tweets about being the "top show not on Fox News, and thus the top news show on cable." blah blah.

Gentle folks...something of an eerie thought has thrusted upon me ..
brad brung up the question "Could olby work for FOX NEWS Channel ?.."

    Now hear me out folks
CNN sucks at 8pm with spitzer and company
maybe bring "THE OLBERMAN REPORT" to CNN

    Orrrrrrr...
hows THIS for a scarry Prime Time Lineup on HLN
    8p Nancy Grace
    9p Joy Behar
    10p Keith Olbermann

He may be history on MSNBC...but lets put it this way, if you were the new regime at CNN and you were looking to build a Prime Time Franchise around Piers , youd be pretty desperate to stoop to the lowest form of show ..and who better to helm it than Olbermann!

    Or..
he could scotch it all and go fully either MLB Network or his own bizzaro internet show

You know folks, as orgasmic as this news is, lets keep it in perspective. With all the possibilities flowing behind this suspension, it sadly is just that, for now. Of course "unnamed" sources will say he won't be fired, or he will. Either way, at this moment, we don't know for sure.

Sure they don't need him now. Sure Comcast is probably very involved at this point, or heavily "implying" what they would do. Dylan, Chunk, the Doc, etc could take his place. But if for nothing else, this time is different because he knows how many people both in and out of the media, politics, hollywood, women, people with pulses, etc, will LOVE this news. It will be hard for him to admit defeat, whether it be in the form of him quitting, or being fired, or both.

FNC is obviously out. HLN? CNN? ESPN? The big 3? So many no's. So TV is out. Print is out too, no one will be able to hear his voice, which he won't stand for. Radio? Maybe.

So just keep that in mind. This isn't over yet. We'll probably know more soon though! And by the by, is it my browser or has his Twitter been offline now for sometime?

KOlby, what's he gonna do? Talk about "Fixed News" being shills for the GOP?

He's damaged goods and I bet Griffin and the rest of NBC News told him to let the door hit him in the ass on the way out.

Let's just enjoy it while it lasts. I have no doubt that the ape ruler will somehow find his way back on TV simply because of the unending desire of people to view train wrecks. Like the gross delight people get from the "Saw" movies, the same sick part of society NEEDS an olbermann to feel better about themselves.

Make no mistake about it but he will be back, and until that day arrives I know the people who have been fighting this disgusting human being via this site have to be satisfied that (at least until he's back) at least for the time being he's gone.

I believe I am one of the last ones still standing along with THE FACTOR from the original protesters of the hairy one (outside of J$ and Bob of course), who used to go toe-to-toe with all the sick vile and tasteless libs before Bob and J$ started blocking their vile crap. Who could ever forget the "Flocker's", "Slob's," ANONYMOUS'S" and later Mike H's who constantly preached their shit without (just like their ruler) one ounce of truth to back up what they screamed about daily. At times the whole of Olbermann Watch seemed like a shrine to the ape ruler, and if not for the few who defended common decency I'm sure this site never would have made it.

I remember the days where posts went up to over 300 comments on one subject daily, and for those people who stood their ground through all the lies and filth with logical and simple truths I feel they should be recognized: Cee (how could we forget him?), the three ladies...Cecelia, Granny and Sharon...royal king (with his very quit and oh so right to the point retorts that seemed to drive the lunatics even crazier), and many many more. I myself remember a day where I went at it with at least 5 of them all day long for over 12 hours, until I handed it over to royal crown who then proceeded to quickly destroy them with simple right to the point questions (which they of course could never answer except by resorting to name calling and cursing).

Yes, if it is truly over then I hope all those that I mentioned can FINALLY celebrate that they may have had a little something to do with the canning of the worst...absolute WORST!...personality and unAmerican human being that I have ever seen on American TV. If he truly is gone for good then here's to them and to ALL of you who followed for your good work in calling out this phony. Especially to J$ and Bob, because if it wasn't for them I never would have known there were so many normal people out there.

Good job people and take pride that we all may have had something to do with this monster being suspended, as we all know it wasn't for his contributions to any Democrats that got him tossed. I mean if anybody believes that (outside of the sick cossacks of course), then I have a few conspiracies I'd like to go over with you.

Take care, and enjoy it for all it's worth, because unfortunately the ape ruler will be back someday...

Take care, and enjoy it for all it's worth, because unfortunately the ape ruler will be back someday...

Sorry for the double post. I believe that was the first one I ever had. It must be from the all the cocktails I've had tonight in celebrating the ape ruler's (possible?) demise. SALUTE!

There use to be 300 comments per day here?

Real reason they are trying to dump KO 4 Years/30 Million Dollars. If the contract was half of that he would still be around.

Again Wolverine, where is he gonna go?

    Obviously not NBC/MSNBC.

Fox News? Well, maybe. I heard they have a custodian job open.

ABC? Despite their faults they still have class so no.

CBS? They have enough high salaries=low ratings problems.

CNN? I'm sure they're happy with Parker/Spitzer/Morgan/Cooper and we all know he's "too good" for a normal anchor job.

ESPN? Yes. As soon as the ban is lifted in 2000-never.

Fox Sports? Maybe if he apologizes on-air for trashing them.

What's left? A job at mlb.com where he can host an obscure online show, Twitter and the Daily Kos. That's it.

The only way I can see myself being wrong is if Comcast for some unknown reason decides to keep him around. I doubt it.

You know, sometimes I write inflammatory political comments on my Facebook page, but nobody cares. Basically I'm an idiot with a Facebook account.

That's basically what Olbermann will become. An idiot with a Twitter account. Or an idiot with a Kos blog.

It's back to irrelevancy Wolvie. He's destroyed everything he's ever done because of the way he behaves.

And bart, his ratings obviously did not match his contract so that was probably a factor, but if you've ever heard people talk about him that know him they've pretty much all said he is an asshole straight up.

Royal King. Is that what the coward MikeH refers to when he posts as The Real Royal King on Mediaite? Leave it to MikeH to be super creative.

I remember one time he was bragging about some Special Comment seen by "two million people" or something (because that's what Olbermann said and he NEVER lies about his ratings) and when he was called out he was all "You don't know he's lying! You haven't seen the numbers!"

Good times. Not to brag but to my knowledge he hasn't posted here since I trashed him on Olbermann's lack of civility.

SYYVVN? i know you,ve been ill lately---but now is your chance to celebrate! so give obamaman a few choice words! by the by-- olby keeps calling himself a "newsman" while most of the FOX donaters are "contributers"(how apt) a "newsman" should be unbiased, whereas contributers are under no such obligation in my mind.

I think this may have been connected with the firing from Sunday night football a few months back. Maybe they were planning on canning his ass the whole time and were just waiting for the proper excuse to come up so they could do it.

There's been a lot of speculation about where he might go - listen, there is no place else for him to go. He has bad mouthed so many people and burned so many bridges he isn't going to end up on any network, doing politics OR sports. Maybe he can go to Al Gore's news channel on cable, that has about 10 viewers, but otherwise no.

"Good times. Not to brag but to my knowledge he" (MikeHee) "hasn't posted here since I trashed him on Olbermann's lack of civility."

Not to deflate your bubble cjflan32, because you sure do deserve a lot of credit for your posts against Olbermann here, but MikeHee left shortly after one of the posters here linked to one of MikeHee's posts where he cried about his being bullied when he was young. Awwww, poor MikeHee! Anyway, J$ put up a spoof post of Olbermann interviewing MikeHee about his being bullied. It was hilarious. And, at MikeHee's expense too! The poor putz couldn't take it, and he left shortly thereafter, back to other venues. Good riddance I say.

Oops. I should have stated that the post of MikeHee's referencing his bullying, was from Democratic Union, I believe. Anyway, it explained why MikeHee was such a puss libtard.

Yeah flindycon, who do you think posted that? DING! Find me a new bubble.

And as I recall I said I didn't know if it was the same MikeH, I just liked the DU version better.

Of course he could always come back to MSNBC, but he's going to have to eat A LOT of humble pie.

And given his past history, he'll eat brussel sprouts before he eats humble pie.

I hope you're right. I really do, but I see this guy just catching on somewhere because the demand for losers like him from the losers out there is overwhelming at times.

The times have changed unfortunately, where good solid journalism is passe and in your face lying, over the top extremism is the norm with the libs leading the parade. Look at O'Reilly. Every show I watch he's nearly 100% down the middle stating the obvious (to the point where he has bent over backward in defending Obama), and yet almost every single media outlet portrays him as this "right wing monster" without any credible facts to back what they say. It's just "he is" and that's all there is to it. Who cares about facts? Who cares about the truth? Just slam a conservative, and it has to be true.

This, and only this, is the reason I think the ape ruler will come back somewhere. Yes, if the networks had any integrity he'd never show up again, but unfortunately outside of Fox the media is clearly to the left, and who better to spike the ratings a bit then the ape ruler. Especially so, when they can use his firing as some sympathetic tool for bringing him back. The fact that he should have been fired for his lies, vicious attacks on the innocent, false clips, personal vendetta's, psychotic rants, etc. isn't why he got fired, but the fact that he got fired for being "passionate" about what he believes in could easily be manipulated into a ratings boost for whatever network is low enough to take him on.

No more is it about integrity and actually reporting the truth, as it is ALL about getting people to watch the show. Even if those people are the dregs of society, as long as there's enough of them out there he'll be around. Hell, if this wasn't true he never would have gotten Countdown to begin with. I mean if the powers that be ever watched him on ESPN they already knew he was sick and over the top, and yet they still went out and got him. Probably BECAUSE he was psychotic that went after him.

Ah, at least for the time being we should all be happy that the sickest personality on TV is off the air, but I truly think he'll be back. Even worse, I'm afraid he'll be back with a vengence, and especially so if he comes back to Countdown.

I think America 47000 said this site could morph into MSNBC Watch, and there's enough of those nuts to keep this going for a long long time. Madcow, Matthews, Crazy Ed, etc. but ultimately I believe it'll stay at Olbermann Watch because on the Planet of the Apes there's a hell of a lot of apes that'll be looking for his return. My guess is that he'll be back with MSNBC in some form, and his return will get the biggest ratings boost they've ever seen, and then it'll be back to the lies, un-American values, etc.

    Pray I'm wrong.

Royal King. Is that what the coward MikeH refers to when he posts as The Real Royal King on Mediaite? Leave it to MikeH to be super creative.

And yes it is, because back in the old days you could use any moniker you wanted, and Mike H used a million of them to try and give the impression that there were millions out there who thought like him (a follower of a liar obviously has to lie). The first and real Royal King called him out on it every time, and it was hysterical to how Mike H always fell into Royal Kings trap by letting his guard down and exposing himself as Mike H. He later came up with the "Real Royal King." royal king himself then changed his moniker to olby sucks when you could only have one, whereas Mike H went to Mike H.

I didn't say he wouldn't catch on somewhere.

I said he wouldn't catch on anywhere that matters.

Twitter. MLB.com. Daily Kos. These places are outlets where any shitbrain with a modem can contribute.

He can't go back to Fox. He cant go back to ESPN. And if things don't work out at MSNBC he can't go back there or go to NBC.

From here it looks like the Age of Olbermann has come to an end.

From here it looks like the Age of Olbermann has come to an end.

    God willing

With his wallet he did opine
    Now Olby should simply RESIGN
    His downward spiral
    Has now gone viral
    Stupidity he does define

Olbermann's near term TV future is baseball. Regarding politics, he's radioactive. It is obvious that when it comes to baseball, he knows his stuff. He is probably most comfortable talking baseball too. (Political "debate" was not - shall we say - a strength.)

My bet is MLB. They are a top-notch station. Very good talent and entertainment. The execs will have to enforce strict stipulations in his contract (i.e. no politics). If he follows their policies, tones down the snark, and plays it on the straight and narrow, minus the diva routine, he may be successful on MLB.

    ........

But, then again, we're talking The Goon here. Can you really teach an old dog new tricks?

The Arizona Diamondbacks are racist because they don't have any good Latino players.

    Yeah, he knows his baseball.

We forget one place that *shudder* could POSSIBLY hire him

    N...........P..........R

BUT, this is the way I see it:

In a reverse of the election night protest of ABC NEWS having Andrew Brietbart as one of their election night guests.. by members of "spooooky duuuuude" media elite (media matters,etc...) along with "Maddow's macho minions" and the like ...MSNBC will bend to the pressure and *shudder* rehire the brain dead twit .

    Re: D-Backs

That's the problem when he tries to mix sports (his forte) with politics (his demise). The only reason it even came up was because of the Fed lawsuit against the state of AZ. To him, everything is left vs. right. The right is always wrong - or worse - evil. And that is why he'll always fail in politics.

He is radioactive, and I can't see anyone hiring him for "news" or "political analysis" unless and until he can prove to be controllable on a different topic for a good period of time. Hence, his return to sports is inevitable.

If he has any chance of pulling himself out of the hole only he has dug for himself, he will have to do pure baseball. It's that simple.

Lucas, I pray you're right, but fear you're not. Radioactive or not, he still makes them money. Whether Maddow and Larry do that now as well, he's still their main guy, and 3 making money is better than 2. And they've proven they don't care about ratings, just ideology, and money.

For all the reasons they may have gotten rid of him, there are still plenty to bring him back as well. First, as mentioned, money. Second, ratings, at least at the beginning, he might actually crack a new record for his show and the network. And right there is great reason to do bring him back because, yet again, they'll have to rely on his crazy for new and higher milestones.

Look, as we speak, their hashing all this out now. Whether agents, lawyers, publicists, executives, talent, etc are involved, I can't imagine this will go on for too long. If he's frozen out, he won't be able to take it too long and will start tweeting and kossing his brains out. (By the way, is his twitter deactivated?) If he's involved, then he'll either demand more control \ respect as how dare they not bow to his crazy, or he's out. Its up to them and their reasons and lack there of whether they need him or not.

Or, this could have all been to prove a point against FNC. And lets be honest, is it really hard for us to believe its not a possibility?

    Sorry to miss the party.

been in the hospital for a week. Kidney failure. But now, I'm back and I'm ready to roll.

Needless to say, when I heard this Thursday night, I jumped in my bed and did cartwheels down the hall.

But alas, Keith and Phil are a love story for the ages. The two will kiss and make up. It might be a two week soak, but Keith's bloated face will soon be in front of the Countdown cameras once more.

But until then, I'm enjoying the break.

I'm also sorry that I missed the party. I too am happy that MSNBC is at least suspending Keith indefinitely.

I also think that this is temporary, but hope that I'm wrong. Keith should stick to sports and not talk about politics.

LucasCop wrote: "Hence, his return to sports is inevitable."

I'm not so sure about that. He was canned from NBC's Sunday Night Football because he doesn't play well with others (not to mention viewers threatening to boycott if he stayed on). As you mentioned, he's radioactive.

If Keith does return to sports, it will be in a very reduced capacity, He most certainly won't be appearing on ABC, CBS, NBC or Fox or FoxSports. He might qualify as a sideline commentator on VS network... maybe.

This shouldn't be the end........the whole network needs to be gutted. Could you Imagine if (It's pretty hard to believe it would, but let's just imagine, ok) Bill O'Reilly gets offered a pretty large amount of $ to make a jump from FOX to MSNBC's 8PM time slot?

The more that I mull this over, I'm starting to believe that MSNBC might bring him back just to rub it in Fox's face regarding disciplining their "anchors" for political ideology. Think about it, although Olbermann will still be the biggest joke on TV, they suddenly gain credibility for actually pretending to follow their journalistic ethics. They will officially rebrand Countdown as having a liberal bias, tell Olbermann to knock it off regarding calling himself a legitimate news anchor, and officially start promoting him as the liberal Hannity.

It actually makes enough sense that I would probably consider it be in MSNBC's best interest. Plus, then they don't have to put up with the barrage of online petitions from the Kos Kids demanding Olbermann's return. Obviously things on Countdown will have to change, and Olbermann is probably done doing election night coverage for good, but I really can't see them actually canning him over this.

I suspect lard butt is hanging loose for a few days waiting for MSNBC to realize they can't do without him because he is the king of slime and nobody can equal him. Unless something more devious is in the works, the sanctimonious SOB will be back in his re-enforced chair in a few days. He's probably writing a supply of those sickening, wordy comments he is so proud of. We can pray for relief, but I fear Satan is his co-pilot and encourages his vomitous vitriol. It seems that there are people who truly enjoy his diatribes. His return will be to them as that of a conquering hero.

Yeah, I'm sure the Kos petitions carry a lot of weight.

Anyway, there are so many factors here to talk about it could go either way.

There is a factor you guys are forgetting - rumors that he was extremely difficult to work with and the people at MSNBC hated his guts. Also, Comcast taking over soon. I think these things behind the scenes are going to prevent him from ever coming back. Besides, can you imagine him having to admit he was wrong, and apologizing on air for what he did? Would never happen.

Quote from a liberal rag about olbermann,

"It should be clear to all that keith olbermann is a liberal"

Well I would say, all but Keith.

Would anyone have a problem if olbermann was back on the air if he would only admit that he is a flaming progressive, liberal, socialist, communist loving, castro admiring, un-American, misogynist, angry, snarky, smarmy, unpatriotic, unprofessional, no talent, democrat water carrying, angry, irresponsible, reactionary, hate filled racist?

Well me....I would take him back if he would admit, on air and in print, that he's not a 'journalist', just a liberal commentator.

He is now damaged goods. He can no longer claim to be independent. He has been marginalized.

    Have a nice day!

Remember, Olby likes to remind everyone that he's a "capitalist." Of course, he has no concept of what capitalism actually is

When you are MSNBC and 99% of your audience consists of whiny babies from KOS and Huffington Post, those petitions might actually carry some weight.

    There were two developments today:
    1) Politico reports that Keith was suspended for not apologizing for making the donations.
    2) Twittermann: "Greetings From Exile! A quick, overwhelmed, stunned THANK YOU for support that feels like a global hug & obviously left me tweetless XO"

He's coming back. I just know it. We prematurely gloated and are paying the price.

    What price are we paying?

Like David Zurawick said if MSNBC wants to treat this suspension like a joke its their problem.

Don't mind me, CJ. I'm just a pessimist.

    I meant a karmic price.

    This is win-win.

If he doesn't come back then it's over.

If he does comes back then it proves everything Cox and J$ have been saying for years.

Two links for the price of one post:

    http://tinyurl.com/26y78ys

Second, Fox Haters' Week in Review:

    http://tinyurl.com/28hal3o

No, Jeff, it won't. He'll be back Tuesday. Phil Griffin: "After several days of deliberation and discussion, I have determined that suspending Keith through and including Monday night's program is an appropriate punishment for his violation of our policy. We look forward to having him back on the air Tuesday night." Good job, Kossacks. You did it. I hate you all.

So, in other words, Keith's suspension is for only two shows. What a joke!

However, I'm an optimist and agree with cjflan32's analysis at 6:40 pm. Since Keith is coming back, this means that with regards with that post it's the plan B part win that stands, which is that:

"...it proves everything Cox and J$ have been saying for years."

So, the only thing left to hope for is Comcast doing what Griffin couldn't do: fire Keith Olbermann. If anyone at Comcast is reading this, make a note of that request.

That'll teach him not to contribute to Democrats again.

I should be mad but I can't stop laughing.

    Still laughing...

Oh God, Tuesday is going to be unbearable. He is going to be bitching about how Fox never disciplines their anchors and that MSNBC proved their objectivity by issuing the suspension. No doubt that WPitW will be revived, and he will probably name Beck, Hannity and O'Reilly simply for being on Fox news.

I give him two weeks until the "I'm the number one news show not on FAUX news, therefore I am the #1 news show" nonsense starts up again. But knowing Olbermann, he probably still considers himself a real journalist, so maybe the charade starts again right on Tuesday.

After several days, Phil finds out Keith has more pics then he originally knew about. WPITW goes to the reporter who broke the story and to Fox for not adopting a NBC rule for their own employees.

If this doesn't end the discusssion that MSNBC is no longer a news outfit and really is a arm of the DNC is now over!
