The latest installment in Keith Olbermann's ongoing attempts to resuscitate his ratings comes tonight, as he is dragged, kicking and screaming, into reluctantly reinstating the Worst Persons in the World segment, the one he previously claimed he was suspending 'probably' for good. But as Olbermann Watch reported a week ago, the plan all along was to resurrect it. The 'viewer poll' was carefully positioned to give the results he wanted, and just yesterday we told you what the results would be before they were broadcast. If Oralmann's machinations were any more transparent they would be day-old Neutrogena.
We also told you yesterday that the infamous, deplorable Keith Olbermann would lie about the Fox video he ran--and sure enough he did, claiming it was Fox reporters who didn't know they were being recorded. Simply a flat-out lie. Not only do the people in that clip know they are being recorded, and will be posted on the internet, but the program host Jon Scott tells viewers every week that they can see the commercial break discussions online. But never mind all of that. Herr Olbermahn would rather just lie about it.
What lies will Monkeymann tell tonight? You might get an idea from this:
It's another must-miss edition of The Hour of Spin. Comments are open!
Inflated ego alert via Twitterman's most recent boast:
"Two problems. FCC has no jurisdiction over cable. Also, Sen. Rockefeller has volunteered to me several times that he's a Countdown viewer"
For some context, Rockefeller, being the fascist that he is, basically went off at a Senate commission meeting regarding FCC regulations of cable news. In remarks which weren't prepared prior to the speech, he said "There’s a little bug inside of me which wants to get the F.C.C. to say to Fox and to MSNBC, ‘Out. Off. End. Goodbye."
Of course, Olbermann had to clarify that he didn't actually mean Countdown, since he is a regular viewer. To Edward R. Olbermann's credit, he actually was correct about the FCC having no jurisdiction over cable TV. However, he just had to inflate his ego in the process.
Okay, Keith, we'll play it your way (I'm missing a good Human Target for this shit).
Like when a failed sportscaster brings back a stupid segment on his "news" show, IT'S THE RETURN OF THE NRWPITW ABSTRACT! I missed you!
Bronze: Jay Rockerfeller- for the sin of calling out FNC and MSNBC (really Keith wanted FNC out).
Silver: Roger Ailes- For the sin of calling King Obama a failure! HOW DARE HE!
GOLD!: Pam Gellar- for Islam bashing. Keith (a closet Muslim), goes ballistic.
And Keith, PARK 51 is a FUCKING MOSQUE!!!!!!!
Another award winning countdown to another day on dialysis. Off to watch criminal minds.
OUT!
It's good to know Olbermann was serious about taking what Jon Stewart said to heart.
I'm sure if MKDAWUSS still had the balls to show up here he'd support this move.
And I'm sure M-Ditty has something intelligent to add so if you all come back in a few days you can read it.
So, what did the new-look Not-Really-But-Nonetheless-Really WPitW sound like? Let's go spanning the [NewsBusters] transcript:
"First, get out your pitch forks and torches, time for the new and improved not really Worst Persons in the World, with a new nicer version of the music. The not really bronze goes to Senator Jay Rockefeller of West Virginia. A hearing today on television transmission consent. He says TV is ailing and there's, quote [Ding!], 'endless barking' on cable news. He adds, 'There's a little bug inside of me which wants to get the FCC to say to Fox and to MSNBC, Out. Off. End. Goodbye. It would be a big favor to political discourse; to our ability to do work here in Congress; and to the American people, to be able to talk with each other and have some faith in their government and, more importantly, in their future.' Two things, Senator Rockefeller has repeatedly volunteered to me that he is a devoted viewer of this program. (WHISPERS) We're on MSNBC, Senator. (STOPS WHISPERING) And more importantly, the FCC - the Federal Communications Commission - does not have any control over the content of cable television. Mr. Rockefeller's on the Senate Committee on Commerce which has oversight on communications, so you'd think he could ask somebody about that little detail.
"The not really, okay, we need the other music. Brian,..." Back to "Toccata and Fugue in D Minor." "...thank you. The not really silver, Roger Ailes, as in What ails this country? The chairman of Fixed News [Ding!]. He told an online gossip site [Ding!] today, quote [Ding!], 'The President has not been very successful...' Ailes added, 'He had to be told by the French and the Germans that his socialism was too far left for them to deal with.' Ailes added [Ding!], 'he just has a different belief system than most Americans.' Given Mr. Ailes's befuddled [Ding!] past - pro-Nixon, obsessed [Ding!] with damaging NBC after they fired [Ding!] him - it is absolutely possible that Ailes thinks he's speaking a public opinion and not public opinion he helped to manufacture [Ding!]. One of Ailes's Fox News Web sites today attacked the President for his new children's book: 'Obama Praises Indian Chief Who Defeated U.S. General.' That's the cleaned up version. The original headline read: 'Obama Praises Indian Chief Who Killed U.S. General.' 'His most controversial choice may be Sitting Bull, who defeated Custer at Little Bighorn: (‘A Sioux medicine man who healed broken hearts and broken promises.’)' Seriously [Ding!], we've reached the point where Fox News is still rooting for General Custer at Little Bighorn. Have Ailes take Beck and Hannity and O'Reilly and go to the memorial in Montana and start chanting, 'USA, USA!'
"But our winner, Pam Geller. If anybody committed the original sin of stirring up the blind [Ding!], stupid [Ding!] anger [Ding!] that is religious hatred [Ding!] in this country, it's this buffoon [Ding!]. When even [Ding!] the Laura Ingrahams of this world thought the Park 51 Project was a great example of cultural outreach and healing, Geller insisted it was a 'triumphant mosque.' Well, there is a problem with the two minutes hate [Ding!]: You may lose control of it, and it may come back to attack you. It spread from a proposed Islamic center in New York to an actual mosque bombing in Jacksonville [Ding!] to protests in Tennessee [Ding!] to this moronic [Ding!] anti-Sharia law law in Oklahoma and now Phoenix. As this structure is being finished, the new dome - visible from the I-10 highway there - is taking shape and people have been coming up to the builders, to the officials demanding to know who let them build the mosque with that funny name La Luz del Mundo. It’s La Luz del Mundo, the light of the world. It's not a mosque, it's a multi-denominational church, a multi-denominational Christian church. Nice work, Ms. Geller. Now you've got Islamophobes [Ding!] protesting a church. Pam Geller, today's Worst Person in the World, not really."
But wait, there's more. The OlbyLoons on Twitter:
@KeithOlbermann Luv having Worst back but please don't ever use that opening music again....yeck ! LOL !
@KeithOlbermann Thank God you restored the old, mean music (Tocata in Fugue is mean?) 2 "Worst Persons." Now dump the too-cute "not really."
@KeithOlbermann Glad that Not Really Worst Persons is back - we can't get thru this period w/out it!
Yes Countdowns Worst Person is back. Pam G has Islamaphobes in AZ protesting a Christian Church. #MSNBC @KeithOlbermann
@KeithOlbermann I love the worst person in the world!!!!!!!!!
Worst Persons has returned, YES! Also, thanks @keitholbermann for changing the music back. [link] #Countdown #p2
@KeithOlbermann So glad to have Worst Persons back - missed it!
@KeithOlbermann Plinky music during Worst Persons (not really) was distracting, glad y'all went back to the funereal, spooky stuff. :)
@keitholbermann I was gonna give you a mountain of crap for the new version of Worst Persons; thanks for bringing it back as normal 1/2 way.
I need a shower after not only NRWPitW, but also the sycophantic tweets. I hate haters and Keith is the biggest hater of them all.
As predicted, a ratings burst
Now it's back to the world's worst
And the ratings decline
As Bill might opine
The Factor is still running first
Hey guys, Long time reader, first time contributor..
One thing..If Countdown is a real "news" program, how come no news on Rangel? Just asking.
I think you know the answer, Prodav. Welcome aboard.
Let's go back to something Merkle said in NRWPitW: "Senator Rockefeller has repeatedly volunteered to me that he is a devoted viewer of this program." Hey, Keithy, Rockefeller is alive. You can't claim he's a "Countdown" fan yet. This has all the makings of Another Olbermann Lie.
"Senator Rockefeller has repeatedly volunteered to me that he is a devoted viewer of this program." He probably said that to keep STALKERmann away from him. Same thing with Ron Washington, MGR of the Texas Rangers (STALKERmann, or his alternate ego TWITtermann. I'm actually suprised that since Washington came in 2nd to a white guy (Ron Gardenhire of Minnesota), who probably isn't a viewer of Countdown (since STALKERmann never said so about Gardenhire being a countdown viewer) that somehow GWB, The Texas Rangers, AND Bud Selig are responsible for that happening, with expert analysis of the conspiracy theory by Ken Burns.
Oh god, 13 days and counting living in Obamaville, just trying to stay sane in a world gone completely insane
Just another reminder for everyone:
Sarah Palin's Alaska - 5,000,000 viewers
Countdown - 750,000 viewers
I can already guess Olbermann's next tactic to explain the ratings differential between Countdown and Palin's show. Countdown is on five days a week, Sarah Palin is on once, therefore, the ratings are close to equal. In fact, if you throw in the reruns, Olbermann will declare he beats Palin by a few million each week!
Come on, you know he's going to, and I'm shocked he hasn't tried this one yet.
TWITterman's posts on his ratings on twitter "I get 2 million a night. How many do you get?" Well, now that Crazy Larry's show now bumps his re-run of propaganda to 11, not only does this douchebag get crushed by the EEEEEVIL O'Reilly at 8 and 11, but his 2am re-re-run of propaganda goes against the even more EEEEEEEEEEEVIIIIILLLLL LONESOME RHODES BECK! I would love to know how much Beck's 2am slot does vs. Olbyturd.
BTW.....Just out of curiosity........do you think any of the hatred towards women to whom STALKERMANN disagrees with spewed on his show has any implications of his relationship with Katy Tur? Only one can wonder.
Prodav18...I was thinking the exact same thing today. But then I over came my brain freeze and realized Olby won't mention Rangel because he is a liberal Democrat.
Imagine if it were a Republican...Olby would spend two weeks on it and make repeated calls for the Congressman to "RESIGN, SIR".
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2 million viewers a night? Really?
According to the latest numbers (Wed., Nov. 17th):
8pm: 1,140,000
11pm: 409,000
Now according to my math that is 1,549,000.
Is he is telling the truth about the "2 million viewers" then he would have to get an additional 451,000 viewers at 2 am when he isn't even pulling in those numbers at 11pm. Not to mention on Friday when his show only airs one time.
Bottom line...Olby is lying...AGAIN.
I think his rejection by Rebecca Lobo sent him over the edge more than anything. Olberdork has a strange hatred for women. Have you seen the skits he does where he makes fun of runway models that fall down etc.? Plus his bizarre obsessions with nice looking women like Prejan, Palin, Bachmann, etc. it's not a coincidence. His ego is so screwed up, that when a nice looking woman rejects him, he takes it out on all nice looking women. Know what I mean?
I know this sounds wrong, but I guess that is why he saves the best "smears" for Michael Musto.
