John Gibson worked at MSNBC, worked with (and subbed for) the infamous, deplorable Keith Olbermann. He reveals what he says really went on, why Olby was canned, and the many and varied excellent reasons for dumping him:
Comments are open!
Bravo!!!!
His analysis of TVNewser, in my opinion, is spot on.
If Luke Russert had any balls he'd stand up for his father. But Luke Russert is a hack who shames his father's legacy just like Olbermann, who reportedly skipped his "best friend's" memorial service.
Hmmm...Do you think olby MIGHT pop up ..ON HBO??
Maybe, and his audience would be about 10% of his MSNBC audience. He's finished, he's no longer relevant.
His audience would follow him wherever he shows up. He has a loyal and dedicated fanbase.
Look, the facts are out there.
He wore out his welcome at ESPN.
He wore out his welcome at MSNBC.
He wore out his welcome at Fox Sports.
He wore out his welcome at MSNBC. Again.
Could he pop up somewhere else? Of course, anything is possible.
But the writing's on the wall people. You want to hire him be my guest.
Wuss, a lot of people don't like paying extra for HBO, even liberals. If he only averaged 1.5 million on MSNBC, he'll be lucky to get 1/10 of that on HBO. Besides, it's a moot point. He's got a non compete clause and can't go on TV for some time. Unless he ignores the agreement and blames Sarah Palin. Wouldn't surprise me.
"His audience would follow him wherever he shows up. He has a loyal and dedicated fanbase."
We know. We've proven without a shadow of a doubt that "loyal and dedicated" fans like you will defend him and follow him to the ends of the earth regardless of the truth.
In that open letter I posted I asked you to piss off. If you're going to continue to speak here I will continue to run you out of this site by citing your lies and hypocrisy.
Wuss, obviously you don't listen to a word I have said. Even using a sports analogy, hiring The False Murrow is equivalent to any football team that hires Wade Phillips. Sure, the players like him, but it will ALWAYS end up in disaster, leading to his ultimate firing in disgrace.
He may have a loyal fanbase, but the executives need to protect their Brand.
Great start to the new MODERATE MSNBC.
Chris Matthews slanders Hugh Hewitt.
And Socialist Crazy Larry interviewing Socialist Bernie Sanders.
Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.
Crazy Larry Watch ????
As for where Olby could land... I have a suggestion for a network that would LOVE to have a man of his ilk and opinion...but I dont know if AL JAZERRA is hiring
Geez, to hear crazy Larry, you would think it was a funeral or something about Keith. My lord, that blows...the asshole was FIRED, period.
2nd verse, same as the first.
You can shuffle sh*t into different time slots, but you STILL have sh*t. Matthews, Junk Crazy Larry, Maddow, and Sgt. Schlitz still don't get it. I am now convinced that these guys have gone completely over the cliff that there is no coming back. Comcast needs to pull the plug and start over. And to think that the guy who let this happen is now totally in bed with Obama.
BREAKING NEWS! Olby hired at FNC!!!!!
At least it's a job he's eminently qualified for.

Great analysis, as usual from Bill and Bernie:

Meh, it could have been better.
Does anyone see irony in the fact that Olbermann is getting trashed right now and can't defend himself?
I would like to add that I disagree with O'Reilly's assessment of David Zurawik.
The only reason Zurawik is railing on Olbermann is because he's still pissed off about being named WPITW.
The FoxNews.com version of the Weekdays with Bernie segment can be viewed here. Even after Keith's firing, to go on what Gibby said, Mr. Bill still won't mention Keith by name. I think that's a good move. Keith lives on through Twitter where he can snipe away and rally his OlbyLoon base. Earlier tonight, he tweeted praise for his supportive OlbyLoons and added "the reports of the death of my career are greatly exaggerated." He closed with the #FOK ("Friends of Keith") hashtag. I fear his next stop will be either HBO or Showtime hosting a "Real Time"-like show. There, the attacks will be 100 times nastier than they ever were at MSNBC.
Watching Craig Ferguson doing a monologue on Olbermann. About four people are laughing, don't know if that because only four people show up for his show or only four people there know who Olbermann is.
I was hoping Olby would show up but then who would rubber ducky have to play with? Perhaps sometime next week he can finally crawl out of the bathtup and face the world again.
Hey all! Let's revisit one of the greatest Keith take downs, ever, shall we? Still fing hilarious since it absolutely eviscerates Olbermann on every front-the pomposity, the lies, the ego...and all the more sweet because it's delivered by a fellow lefty.....

Keith didn't quit he was fired
What Comcast did was required
Keith said ratings were good
But it's understood
In 28th place he was mired
Again, Comcast had nothing to do with Keith leaving:
“Comcast has not closed the transaction for NBCU and has no operational control at any of its properties including MSNBC. We pledged from the day the deal was announced that we would not interfere with NBCU’s news operations. We have not & we will not.”
