In a much-hyped tell-all 'explosive' interview designed as part of the publicity push for the ever-approaching premiere of Countdown on some cable-access channel in the 300s, the infamous, deplorable Keith Olbermann reveals that he has scooped up the much-in-demand services of a reporter with impeccable credentials. Yes, David 'Slippery' Shuster, who for years played Robin to Olby's Bathman, will be Oralmann's substitute anchor (mainly when there's a ball game in the vicinity) on the new incarnation of Countdown.
David Shuster's reputation as an impartial journalist is well-known. Before he made MSNBC history with his 'pimped out' comment about Chelsea Clinton, Davey was so eager to air phony attacks on Sarah Palin that he actually broadcast an internet hoax thinking it was a news story! And even after he was suspended Shuster was still lying, only doing it on Twitter. But Robin is best known for his scoop--which he beat every other reporter in the country to. It was on Countdown that he broke the news that 'Karl Rove will be indicted'. It was a shining moment in Shuster's illustrious career--and might we say a defining one?
The rest of the Hollywood Reporter article is even more free PR for Olby and goes into all the bridges he burned at MSNBC--including Rachel Maddow, his one time protoge. Read it at your peril as we eagerly await the infamous, deplorable one's upcoming debut on community-access cable.
You forgot his embarrassing behavior during the James O'Keefe phone-tapping incident.
And the time he bashed the wrong Congresswoman for not knowing the name of a deceased soldier from a district she didn't represent.
And all the times he used the word "teabagger."
And the time he got schooled by a black tea party member.
Actually, if you listed all the things David Shuster screwed up you'd be here all day.
Olby was running? Was FatAss chasing a pizza delivery truck? I've gotten through ona few paragraphs and already I think it is total BS. Olby running? Away from whom?
"It was possible he could go back to ESPN" Bwahahahahaaha - I don't think so. That was the funniest part of the article. I also like Olberdork's quote "hey, I love trains".
OLBERMANN VOWS TO "GET EVEN" IN EXTENSIVE ROLLING STONE ARTICLE - http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/news/keith-olbermann-on-why-he-left-msnbc-and-how-he-plans-to-get-even-20110607
The time has come, the Walrus said to talk of many things....
Of course, soon the cockroach will scurry out and "Watch" will be there to shine the bright light and send it back into the shadows.
During my life we lost polio and small pox. Most people now survive appendix problems and blood letting is rare. Until medical science helps us eliminate Olberitis....Thank you for Olbermann Watch.
I've miss you.
O'Reilly made an important observation in regards to Weiner last night.
Whatever Weiner decides to do, he's done. He can resign or he can not resign and being the chair of the House Cheese-Grating Committee. Why is this important? No more cable news appearances for Anthony Weiner.
Well, maybe the new Countdown show, where questionable character lives.
Funny how MKDAWUSS isn't defending Weiner anymore now that he's a publicly disgraced liar and smear artist.
Weiner may still make appearances on cable news shows. I wouldn't say he's "done" so to speak - there have been quite a few politicians who've survived various scandals. He may even survive the election if he still stays in office - there is more to Anthony Weiner than a sexting scandal.
But what's there to say? Outside of Weiner mishandled what should have been an otherwise minor scandal?
Here's a question: If Sarah Palin posed for Playboy, would the Right (especially the family values subfaction) be as outraged as they are regarding the Anthony Weiner sexting story?
Also, to head back to the OP, where in that article did it say that he burned bridges with Rachel Maddow? FWIU he's not talking that often with her because he doesn't want to put her in an uncomfortable position, and that he wants to bring her to CTV once her contract with MSNBC expires.
Wuss, how can you disagree with the 15 or so Democrat house and senate members who have called for his resignation? And you may not be aware, but New York is losing 2 congressional seats this year, due to a large amount of the population fleeing the liberal utopia. MSNBC liberals were just saying that his seat will be redrawn out of existence. He will probably have to run against another incumbent. Your Sarah Palin theory is laughable, try sticking to the facts for a change.
"Weiner may still make appearances on cable news shows. I wouldn't say he's "done" so to speak - there have been quite a few politicians who've survived various scandals. He may even survive the election if he still stays in office - there is more to Anthony Weiner than a sexting scandal.

You mean being a lying sack of s***? I'm well aware of that.
"Here's a question: If Sarah Palin posed for Playboy, would the Right (especially the family values subfaction) be as outraged as they are regarding the Anthony Weiner sexting story?"
If she was called out for it, lied about it and smeared several people in the process they should be outraged. BTW, terrible analogy. Did you steal that from Kos?
"Also, to head back to the OP, where in that article did it say that he burned bridges with Rachel Maddow? FWIU he's not talking that often with her because he doesn't want to put her in an uncomfortable position, and that he wants to bring her to CTV once her contract with MSNBC expires."
Yeah, change the subject. Good call.
So just to clarify MKDAWUSS does not have a problem with a United States Congressman lying like a rug and in the process allowing others to smear other people in the process to save his own image. I just want to make that clear.
Please Carlos, come back and say "who did Weiner smear?" so I can once again prove you're either an idiot or a man with ZERO integrity.
Better yet, since you're clearly not capable of understanding what I'm saying, I'll explain it to you:
-When a reporter prints a story about someone and that person says it is false knowing that it's true, that is called a LIE.
-When the reporter is accused of creating a story and the Daily Kos ERRR several organizations perpetuate (is that too big a word for you?) that it is called a SMEAR.
-When the person in question allows the smears to continue even though he knows it's a lie that is called ENABLING?
Do you get it now? Or are you just waiting for Olbermann to tell you what to think?
One more thing before I depart:
"Here's a question: If Sarah Palin posed for Playboy, would the Right (especially the family values subfaction) be as outraged as they are regarding the Anthony Weiner sexting story?"
This has to be the dumbest "what if the right did it" analogy I have ever seen. It doesn't even pertain to this argument. Three days and this is the best you could come up with? So, so sad.
GET THIS THROUGH YOUR HEAD: I AM NOT A HYPOCRITE LIKE YOU. WRONG IS WRONG. PERIOD. SO STOP WITH THE DAMN "WHAT IF THE RIGHT DID IT" ARGUMENTS. IF THAT'S THE BEST YOU'VE GOT THEN YOU SHOULD JUST STOP TALKING ABOUT POLITICS.
I apologize for the caps but Carlos clearly does not understand right from wrong. And it's probably because Carlos would have to admit that he was wrong. Again.
Olbermann. Weiner. Andre Carson. Markos. Media Matters. All proven liars, all count Carlos "MKDAWUSS" Lejjena as their fan.
So just to further clarify, MKDAWUSS is a fan of a lying, sexist, misogynist d-bag, a lying smear enabler, a lying race baiter, a lying assclown who runs a site for lying assclowns, and a lying "watchdog" research center that focuses on one organization but MKDAWUSS swears they're "honest and reliable."
Just pathetic.
What if Sarah Palin and Michelle Bachmann were mud wrestling, and Mitt Romney was watching and filmed it, and then he sent the video to Newt Gingrich, and he put it on pay per view, and made 2.1 million dollars, and then he tweeted it to his wife, but he accidently didn't send it as a private message, and he lied about it, and then Olbermann sent it to the NY Times, and Gingrich said Olbermann was a liar, and Bill O'Reily said Olbermann made it up and was a liar, THEN, would the right be as outraged as they are about Weiner? LOL! LOL!
dawuss is just weak sauce...no substance, no logic.
Keith is equally weak sauce. He is going to run the same show format. Keith does not have the intellect to create a new format.
--
This is the 603rd day since the current President was awarded the Nobel Peace prize.
"dawuss is just weak sauce...no substance, no logic."
There's no logic in trying to defend your heroes when they give you no reason to defend them.
MKDAWUSS, it must be so hard to be a hypocrite. I wouldn't know myself but you've given me such great insight with your pathetic excuses for arguments I now feel like I have firsthand knowledge.
Thank you, thank you so much.
Olbermann finally weighs in on the Weiner situation. A few choice quotes:
"There is no rush to judgment like a political rush to judgment."
"This is to be remembered when Breitbart’s fall finally comes – prediction: it will involve handcuffs, and not in the way he might enjoy them."
"Now, Minority Leader Pelosi and other leading House Democrats have done what their Republican colleagues would never do: they too have urged Weiner to resign, for what appears to be about the 45th worst sex scandal among politicians in the last five or six years."
"The rush to issue an opinion about Anthony Weiner is so strong – so indicative of the unnecessary urgency of most aspects of our political theater – that a couple of times on Twitter I was harangued by followers, because I hadn’t come out and demanded Weiner quit. Or stay.
My silence owed to one important fact: I wasn’t sure."
"I have actually done what so many fear to do these days, and sat around and thought about something for a week. And now I think I know what I think -- not demand, not insist, not preach -- Anthony Weiner should do."
It's so refreshing to see that, all of a sudden, Keith Olbermann isn't rushing to judgement. Too bad that courtesy wasn't afforded to President Bush or Sarah Palin or James O'Keefe or Karl Rove or pretty much anyone not affiliated with the left.
I'm sure MKDAWUSS has an explanation for Olbermann's newfound patience as well as some fawning to do over Olbermann's "brilliant" idea that involves Weiner resigning and running for his own seat in a special election, which apparently is better than him just staying in office and running for re-election.
LOL - now he is predicting that Breitbart will get frog marched out in handcuffs, just like he's predicted with countless other people he doesn't like and that will never happen.
His commentary on Wiener is slightly short of stupid. There is absolutely no way a special election would go in Anthony Wiener's favor. Olbermann pulled a Harry Reid and found one poll from dozens suggesting Wiener was still popular in his district, and thinks that winning such an election would allow him to gain back popularity and...the "moral" high ground? Only Democrats, only Democrats...
I've read over the handful of media articles on Olbermann the past few weeks, in preparation for his show; the writing on the wall is quite clear. None of these articles painted Olbermann in a positive light, mostly cluing into his checkered past with anyone who has ever employed him, and making note of Current's overly liberal bias and risk in choosing someone like him to run their new found news programming. I'm going to predict two years, and the network will be gone; at least Olbermann's show. There is absolutely no way he can get more than 100K viewers per night. They'll need a lot more to pay Olbermann's salary. Even Liberals who have a very poor view of the business world can't keep a complete disaster like Olbermann alive with ratings as horrible as he's about to get.
I don't know ryder, they could always apply for government subsidies, like PBS, to keep the network going. One of the recent articles said that Current averages 26,000 viewers a night. Olberdork will be lucky to double that to 50,000, still only 2% of O'Reilly.
Current apparently reaches sixty million homes, and I think that number (26,000) being low is exactly what Olbermann wants. Even if he can only gather up a fifty or a hundred thousand viewers a night, he'll combine ratings from all three shows (8pm, 11pm, and 2am) and say he made a significant impact on the channel's viewership. I have no doubt that there will be several folks signing up for Current to watch their beloved Olbermann, but as someone put it on Twitter, Current is TV's Air America, and simply won't survive.
I have Time Warner, and Current is like Channel 164 or something like that. You can't get it on basic cable like Fox News or MSNBC. It's only on the extended digital package, which costs about $100 more a month.
My provider does not offer Current TV even with premiums.
"I have no doubt that there will be several folks signing up for Current to watch their beloved Olbermann..."
Or, considering the majority of his followers have extremely questionable character ***cough*** MKDAWUSS ***cough*** they'll probably just steal it.
The show will most likely be offered for free on Current TV's Web Site as well, which will give Olbermann the ability to make up ratings without a challenge.
Sounds right up his alley, CJ. Seeing that in his past, he's made up ratings, then attacks his counterparts for even considering making mention of it on the air, coughBillOreillycough. I can certainly see Olbermann mentioning ratings on a consistent basis, as they gradually rise in the beginning. I can also safely say that when they plateau, he'll probably leave all integrity at the door and aggressively toe the line of political correctness, all in an effort to drum up interest in his show.
I have a premium cable package, and I still don't get Current. It's one of the few channels that fails to show up when I pass it by. That most certainly will not change.
http://weblogs.baltimoresun.com/entertainment/zontv/2011/06/is_keith_olbermann_overstating.html
This is a fun little piece I pull from the Baltimore Sun this morning. It appears, that a contributor to Keith Olbermann's show, simply has to engage him in a casual conversation and agree to appear once in a while. While, this may adhere to the definition of contributor, that also means that Ken Burns is a contributor to Fox News, as he stated he would have no problem doing. If he and Keith are friends, I can't imagine Olbermann ever bringing this one up. Olbermann simply doesn't understand the idea of fairness and being "down the middle," as does his apparent friend, Ken Burns.
I doubt we'll ever see Ken Burns on Current, and if we do it will be over something very trivial, just so he can say that he's a frequent guest. Countdown will be just like Countdown, with the same guests, over and over, talking about the same liberal bullshit they've been talking about for the past century.
God these people are stupid...
More Olbyblather from the NYT (go figure):
http://www.nytimes.com/2011/06/19/magazine/olbermanns-rage-is-all-the-rage.html?_r=3&hp=&pagewanted=all
The call Olby's moonbat rants a "fiery version of nonwimp liberalism". HAR! We call him Kommie Keith, the FatAss socialist gasbag drama queen, but it's the NYT. They're playing to that type of crowd.
Olbermann just put up a new link to a special comment about Anthony Weiner (finally). He did recommend last week on his website that Weiner resign and simply run again in the special election, which is pure brilliance (pfft), and now has elaborated on the matter to the point of...confusion?
First of all, he referred the President as both "pompous" and "foolish." That man...is a racist (your rules, bub).
Secondly, this entire comment, like those previously placed on MSNBC and his Friends of Keith site, are so moronically opinionated and performed, and ridiculously read, that I don't even think Keith knows what the hell he's talking about. Suggesting a man run for re-election to regain the moral high ground isn't savy politics, it's elementary. Making an analogy to an old saying by expanding to include glass neighborhoods and cities isn't clever, it's boring. And suggesting that people who call for a man to resign who's been spending his time tweeting photos of himself naked to his followers on Twitter and Facebook isn't hypocrisy...it's pure politics. Democrats and Liberals are the kings of double standards, and when they see a man like Glenn Beck or Rush Limbaugh call for a resignation, somehow their histories with substance abuse makes them ineligible to comment.
Keith, you've never been to war, never been married, never served public office, never played professional sports and I'm willing to say you've never prepared Duck or Lamb, but that doesn't stop you from having an opinion on all of those matters. Wasn't it Keith Olbermann that recently asked for a resignation from, I don't know, someone for making a comment about relief for Tornado victims? Then further asking anyone who knows the guy to resign if they don't denounce him fully? You've asked for Presdient Bush's resignation several times, for things your fellow democrats have either supporter or continued to allow as a policy, what does that make Olbermann?
Lastly, this notion of sickness is blindingly stupid. Yes, I think sexual addiction does exist, but snapping photos of your junk and sending it to random chicks on the internet isn't a symptom of addicition to sex, it's an addiction to themselves. It's called narcissism, or megalomania. If that qualifies someone to seek treatment, our pal and former somebody Keith Olbermann would have spent the last decade sporting a robe and talking to Doctors and a circle of people he doesn't know...
(They wouldn't know him either)...
Weiner announces resignation. Any comment Olberdork? It was your Democrat party and your President and your liberal commentators on MSNBC that forced him out.
I said it before and I'll say it again, I don't care about the pictures. If he had come out and said "Yeah, I'm a pervert, so what?" I didn't see any need for him to resign.
It was the lying about it followed by the Breitbart smear campaign he enabled that was the problem.
Funny how I explained that a week ago and MKDAWUSS hasn't said a word since. I guess he ran out of "what if the Republicans did it," scenarios to steal.
I believe Olbermann once said silence is consent, so therefore MKDAWUSS condones a member of Congress lying and damaging the reputation of others to save his own skin. Good thing you only talk politics with your uncle. This way you avoid your whole family thinking you have no character.
On a personal note, while it's not very Christian of me, I feel no sympathy for this public destruction of Weiner. This is what happens when you're the textbook definition of an asshole.
I agree cj, if you read a lot of the media articles right now, even the Democrats were saying behind the scenes that the guy was a sociopath, and the Clintons supposedly won't have anything to do with the guy. What a bright example of an understudy of Senator Chucky, lol.
Guess who may be the new sidekick of Old McFatAss.

Olby speaks to the netroots convention. Somebody tell me what he said, I couldn't stand 20 seconds of it.
Hey Johnny, Mr. Cox, your vacation is over. Countdown starts up again tomorrow night. I look forward to your continued analysis, assuming you can find the channel.
Anyway, remember when MKDAWUSS and all his friends got together and talked about all the viewers MSNBC was going to lose?:
"Since they're not watching MSNBC in protest to Keith's firing, (Maddow's) ratings plummet, she gets canned, and MSNBC decides to head in the direction of FOX News."-MKDAWUSS
Well, so much for that theory:
http://www.theblaze.com/stories/is-msnbc-tanking-without-olbermann-not-quite/
"There‘s nothing uncertain about Maddow’s ascension. She has 1.05 million viewers, on average, this year, a bump of 100,000 over a year before."
Whoops. Of course if Carlos was right about something then I'd be concerned about hell freezing over.
Looks like MSNBC has survived losing Olbermann. No better, no worse.

syvyn11, I watched Olby's netroots video that you linked. Basically he is reminding people that he'll be on TV again beginning tomorrow night and urges people to urge their cable companies to carry Current if they don't already have it. He also claims that he's the only one who is independent and rails against all media companies.
(I will now pause to give you and others reading this some time to laugh.)
(Done laughing? Good. Now to conclude my comment.)
The only other thing for me to say is to read the (as of this writing) 31 comments, including two colorful ones by OW reader djwolf12, and see especially the interesting comments made by whoo689--who's no conservative.
Stay well, syvyn11, and I will look forward to seeing your WPITW abstracts.
